Latest updates from our project:

13/02/2026 - Final CODE workshop @ CREF

The final workshop of the CODE project will be held at CREF. Invited speakers include Giulia Andrighetto (CNR-ISTC), Claudio Castellano (CNR-ISC), Riccardo Gallotti (FBK), Michele Tizzani (DTU), Mattia Mazzoli (ISI), Lorenzo Lucchini (Bocconi, FBK), Elisabetta Colosi (Bocconi) and Lorenzo Dall'Amico (ISI). Project members will present the main activities and results.

09/02/2026 - Paper accepted on SciRep

The paper “Leveraging content producer networks and user perception to detect online discursive communities” has been accepted for publication on Scientific Reports. The work introduces a method to identify discussion communities on social media that is very effective in capturing the users' underlying political divisions.

08/01/2026 - Paper published on PRE

The paper “Impact of behavioral heterogeneity on epidemic outcome and its mapping into effective network topologies” has been published on Physical Review E, showing how the combination of bimodal heterogeneity in susceptibility and infectivity with homophily in contacts can alter epidemic thresholds and generate resurgence dynamics.

12/11/2025 - Paper published on PRE

The paper “Random hyperbolic graphs with arbitrary mesoscale structures” has been published on Physical Review E, introducing the random hyperbolic block model within a maximum-entropy framework.

15/10/2025 - Paper published on Proc. A.

We published “A data-driven analysis of the impact of non-compliant individuals on epidemic diffusion in urban setting”, showing how even small fractions of non-compliance can strongly affect epidemic dynamics.

01–05/09/2025 - Participation @ CCS 2025

CODE members presented three contributions at CCS 2025 and organized the BeSAFE satellite workshop on Behavioral and Social Aspects in Fighting Epidemics.

06/08/2025 - Paper published on PRR

The paper “When to boost: How dose timing determines the epidemic threshold” has been published on Physical Review Research, identifying optimal vaccination strategies across regimes.

02–06/06/2025 - Participation @ NetSci 2025

Project members participated in NetSci 2025, with presentations by Fabio Mazza and Stefano Guarino on epidemic dynamics and random hyperbolic graphs.

11/12/2024 - Presentation @ Complex Networks 2024

Today Fabio Mazza will present our paper at Complex Networks 2024. In the paper, we show that the presence of a group of misbehaving individuals gi...
